My Time With the Heaven’s Gate Cult is a self-written and illustrated memoir created in 2021 under my maiden name, Jessica Webb. This book is a surreal account of personal obsession, isolation, and a slow psychological unraveling that intersected with the legacy of a well-known cult. It blends storytelling, sketchbook horror, and symbolic imagery. Beneath the surface, it explores how language, especially religious language, can be used to obscure truth, instill fear, and isolate people in order to build artificial intimacy and control. This is a personal account of what it means to lose yourself, and what it takes to come back.
